Health and Medical Communications
1998 - present
I research and write patient education materials, feature articles, and marketing and fundraising communications for health-related nonprofits, advocacy organizations, and hospitals and healthcare systems. My projects involve interviewing physicians, nurses, researchers, and patients; consulting with medical experts; and collaborating with other creative professionals. Recent clients include Cancer Today magazine, Geisinger Magazine, Breastcancer.org, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Living Beyond Breats Cand MaineHealth.
Strategic Communications for Colleges, Schools, and Nonprofits
1998 - present
I develop creative concepts, brands and visual identities, and print and digital communications for colleges, universities, independent schools, nonprofits, and some corporate clients. I am involved in all aspects of each project, from initial research and interviews, to visual concept development, to copywriting and editing. I often work collaboratively with a team of graphic designers, web developers, photographers, account directors, and other writers. Often I partner with design and communications firms such as art270, Kelsh Wilson Design (former staff member, 1999-2006), Snavely Associates, and Swivel Studios.
